Feeling Aimless? Discover your goal in these easy steps.

Updated: May 4, 2021

Listen up mama. I know I have purpose in life. I bathe, cook, feed, nurture, chauffeur, listen, comfort, discipline, guide, teach, care, and love. Cannot forget about all the laundry.

I HAVE purpose.

Yet with these tasks, I get caught on autopilot. I can get lost in motherhood. It happens. I love being I mommy, yet I am more than motherhood. Feeling self-loss from season to season can be a struggle. I am sure you can relate.

Motherhood is only one area of our lives. We can keep balance to overcome feeling aimless.

Stop looking around goalless. Get out of autopilot.

I always read about setting a SMART goal but what if you have NO goals and you are completely aimless? Or on the opposite spectrum you have so many dreams you cannot narrow one down.

Discover your goal in these easy steps.

  • Wheel of life- reflect on your 8 wellness dimensions (physical, mental/emotional, environmental, social, spiritual, occupational, financial, and intellectual) Look at every distinct area in your life to reflect the areas that need attention to balance out your well-being. Rate each area from 1-10 on YOUR satisfaction.

  • Brain Dump- write all the ideas, content, frustration you have for this area of your life that can be a factor of your struggles.

  • Journal- why are you unsatisfied in that distinct area of your life? Is it nonexistent? Why are you content with this area of your well-being?

You have built up your self-awareness. (Need more guidance click here)

Stretch goal- break it down into several SMART goals (watch video)

We all loose focus from time to time. As I have been missing in action. I needed to shift my focus during this pandemic. Although I feel my life has not changed much. The amount of stress and worrying has. Many of you know my husband is a nurse. During time of this pandemic has put a crimp in my style. He is working more to keep up with demand of his career in this time of need. I am more than thankful for his hard work allowing me to stay home with our kids and coach/train clients as I feel fit.

As I write publicly, I am going to take get myself off autopilot. I am going to act. I am going to stop walking around aimlessly. Who is with me? No more “just getting through the day”.
